Hello, fellow Hive Attendees! (And all my other lovely readers, of course. Hello!)
Here are 40 facts about me, that you might have not known yet. Let’s go:
// I have no middle name, but always wanted one.
// I have French ancestors on the maternal side of my family.
// I don’t speak French. At least not very well.
// I really wish I could speak French fluently.
// Today my friend Gen let me do a tiny tattoo on her arm and this made a childhood dream of mine come true. (Gen is a professional tattoo artist. And obviously a very patient woman.)
// Yes, I am into tattoos since I was a kid. My mom was not amused. And still isn’t.
// So far, I did Yoga every day this year. This is something I am really proud of. (Usually I’m terrible in sticking at something, so this is a big win for me.)
// I have very little to none self discipline. But I’m working on it.
// I am more than punctual. I learned from my mother to always be five minutes early and now I can’t stand being late. Most of my friends on the other hand are almost never on time. I love them anyway.
// I got married when I was 23. And no, I don’t think this happened too soon.
// I know the Addams Family song by heart.
// I prefer beer over champagne. Always.
// 13 is my lucky number.
// I grew up in a football driven household and I still can explain the offside rules.
// Since my husband is an American football fan, I’m learning these rules now, too. It’s taking me way longer than understanding the offside rules.
// We root for the New Orleans Saints. WHO DAT?!
// I have never been to New Orleans, nor any other place in the United States.
// I attended a traditional wedding in Tunisia. It was quite a surreal experience.
// My Schnitzel are second to none.
// My blog is named after Huckleberry Finn.
// This is my fourth or fifth blog.
// I started my first one 10 years ago.
// This year, I feel like going back to my blogging roots: I think Je suis Huck will turn in some kind of online diary for me. More memories, less “valueable” content. (I’m somewhat tired of trying to be “valueable” all the time. And I miss the personal stories on many blogs, that got really big over the last years. I miss the old days! Gosh, I’m getting nostalgic over here…)
// I have the strong feeling, that I’m supposed to be an artist. I’m just not really good at using my hands. #dilemma
// I goof around. A lot. And I’m never afraid to laugh about myself.
// I am still searching for my purpose in this world. Until I find it, I love to help, encourage and support others to fulfill theirs. Heck, maybe this is my purpose?!
// I’m raised Catholic and as a teenager I was an acolyte.
// I had really short, platinum blond hair when I was teenager, too. I looked like Billy Idol. And I liked it.
// Speaking of teenage years: I had terrible acne, got bullied in school, listened to HIM and The 69 Eyes and wasn’t the happiest camper anyway. #understatementofthecentury
// Today, my skin still breaks out more often than I would like it to, but I’m the happiest I have ever been.
// I now cringe when I hear people talking badly about themselves. You are awesomesauce. Stop telling yourself otherwise.
// I’m on cooking duty today and I should be preparing our dinner right now. Ooops.
// My husband is a very patient man. And a lucky one, if I do say so myself. (See fact 19.)
// The thoughts of war, atomic bombs and the current state of the world scare me and haunt my dreams sometimes.
// In University I attended a seminar about the history of porn. It wasn’t as interesting as it sounds. Actually, it was pretty boring.
// So far, I have studied Theatre Studies, Comparative German Linguistics, German, History of Arts and Educational Science. I have not finished anything. Yet.
// I am not ashamed by that and I am thankful for everything I have learned so far.
// I have a secret crush on Marc Harmon. (Well. It was secret.) To be exact, I have a crush on Agent Gibbs. And to be completely honest, I have a huge crush on Abby, too. (Any NCIS fans present?)
// I’m a sucker for crime stories. Movies, serials, books… This girl loves her whodunits and mysteries, detectives and murders!
// I am going to celebrate the completion of this list with one of my favorite beverages: a cold ginger beer!
Whoa, that was a friggin lot of facts about one single human being. I hope you enjoyed reading them! Have you shared 40 facts about you yet? Tell me! Can’t wait to see you at The Hive in April!
